connecting almond surfboards first mass production board to its craftsman ethos.

Almond surfboards are known for their dedication to the craftsmanship required to produce their high end boards. With the launch of their first mass manufactured recyclable foam board I wanted to embody that ethos into my illustration. by hand making and setting each element by hand I created a design that played with the board’s textures and referenced a mid century modern aloha. The design was such a success that it was run into Almond’s apparel line and was selected in GQ USA’s ‘best things of 2019’ list.
